2006 Membership Drive

HOYA Alumni.com was created in order to provide all former editors, writers, photographers, and other alumni of the paper with an opportunity to reconnect with each other at social events, provide networking for fellow alumni, and to support student efforts where appropriate.

Following the creation of the web site, the next step is to develop a HOYA Alumni Network. There are close to 2,000 alumni with staff or editorial experience with the paper, but there's no comprehensive list managed by the University or the paper itself. The only we can build a network is for you to tell us who and where you are.

The HOYA Alumni Network is looking for you, but it doesn't want your money. Let's repeat that--it's not looking for your money. One alumnus put it this way:

"My own vision for this thing was to help alums connect, reminisce, get jobs, help undergrads get jobs, maybe set up an annual thing for alum journalists to come back...as well as drink beer. The bylaws should be a picture of a keg, a sketch of a reporter in a hat...and the GU bulldog. Enough."

Really, what we need now is critical mass. While you're at it, fill out the form below, and send the link to a few of your fellow HOYA colleagues. And when a few of them tell a few more, there's no telling where this can go.
