John Pendergast (1962-1965)
 

A solid playmaker and defender, John Prendergast was a steady guard for three seasons from 1962 through 1965.

A 6-3 guard from Utica, NY, Prendergast averaged 13.5 points on the 1961-62 freshman team and made an immediate impact on the 1962-63 varsity, averaging 8.8 points with a career high 17 points in a win at Rutgers. A year later, Prendergast improved on his career high with 21 in a win over St. Peter's.

Prendergast's attention to defense did not go unnoticed, and he played in every game over his three year tenure. The captain of the 1964-65 team which went 15-10, Prendergast finished with an 8.4 points per game average on 41 percent shooting.

Following Georgetown, John Prendergast became a physician, and currently practices medicine in the Pittsburgh area.
